The Eaunophe lamp by Patrick Paris for Serax plays an ingenious visual game of surprising contradictions. In his signature style, the French designer plays a bizarre cat-and-mouse game with the function of the object. Flat on the table, cabinet or floor, the Eaunophe lamp appears to be simply a sleek, solid concrete sculpture in the form of a lampshade. But as soon as you tilt it slightly, a warm, diffused light emanates from under the shade.
